Ryanair’s days as the "Budget King" are over (Video)

The airline you choose to fly with can make or break your travel experience, from comfort and service to overall convenience. With so many options available, knowing how to pick the best one for your needs can save you time, money, and hassle.
Here’s how to choose the right airline for your next trip:
Consider Your Travel Priorities
Start by thinking about what’s most important to you on a flight. Are you focused on comfort and service, or is cost your main concern? If you’re looking for a luxurious experience, airlines like Emirates, Qatar Airways or Singapore Airlines offer top-notch amenities and service. If you’re more budget-conscious and want to spend less on a ticket, it’s a better idea to book with a low-cost carrier like Southwest or Ryanair.
Check Airline Reputation and Reliability
It’s important to research an airline’s reliability before booking. If flights on multiple different airlines are the same price and you don’t know which one to pick, search YouTube for flight reviews to see what each airline offers. Once you’ve settled on a flight, I recommend searching for the exact flight’s on-time performance record on FlightRadar24. While delays are mostly unpredictable, you can more often than not assess how punctual your flight will be based on its on-time performance during the days preceding your flight.
Airline Loyalty
If you travel often, choosing an airline with a strong frequent flyer program can pay off, as it’ll allow you to earn and redeem miles across various partner airlines without needing to spend too much cash. Provided that it isn’t overly expensive, sticking to one or two airlines to establish loyalty status can pay off in the long-run, and will allow you to accumulate loyalty points quickly.
Consider In-Flight Amenities
Don’t overlook the importance of in-flight comfort. Use tools like SeatGuru or AeroLopa (personal favourite) to compare seating configurations and check for features like extra legroom, in-flight entertainment, and Wi-Fi. Airlines known for superior in-flight services, such as Qatar Airways or Emirates, might be worth considering for long-haul flights for the added comfort.
Factor in Additional Costs
Before you book, be aware of additional costs like baggage fees, seat selection charges, and in-flight meals. Budget airlines often appear cheaper at first glance but can end up costing more once these extras are added. Make sure to factor these into your overall travel budget before booking.

⚡️ Aviation Industry Roundup
Flair Airlines Seeks Additional Funding
Flair Airlines, a Canadian low-cost carrier, is seeking to raise CAD100 million (USD74.2 million) to support its restructuring. While the funds aren’t urgently required, they would give the airline financial flexibility. Despite recent challenges, including the repossession of several planes, interim CEO Maciej Wilk is optimistic about Flair's future and plans to expand the fleet to 24 aircraft next year, aiming to strengthen its position in the low-cost market.
Air Canada Offers Flexible Rebooking in Anticipation of Potential Pilot Strike
Air Canada is offering flexible rebooking options for flights between September 15 and 23 due to a possible pilot strike that could begin as early as September 17. Passengers can rebook at no extra cost for travel until November 30 or cancel for a future travel credit. Refunds are available only for refundable tickets. While negotiations with the pilots' union continue, the pilots have voted to strike if no agreement is reached.
