✈️ How to book travel on a budget

+ $19 Flights, How to choose the best airplane seat

Read time: 3 min 🕐

Here are some tips to keep in mind if you’re trying to book travel on a budget:

Fly with budget airlines

You can book considerably cheaper flights by choosing to book with a budget airline rather than a full service airline.

Example: Booking with Ryanair instead of British Airways

Budget airlines also run promotions regularly, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on their website/follow their social media accounts so that you don’t miss out on their deals!

Have flexible dates

Flight and hotel prices often vary drastically across dates, so travelling on cheaper, off-peak dates will allow you to save significantly on flights and accommodations.

Have flexible destinations

If you’re not constrained by a specific destination, being flexible will allow you to save a lot of money while exploring a new destination in the process.

Skyscanner and Google Flights both have an option where you can search for flights to anywhere, which I highly recommend trying.

Collect and spend airline miles

Make sure to include your loyalty program number when booking flights, so that you’ll eventually have enough points to spend on free flights for your next travels.

Travel in a group/book shared accommodation

Travelling with friends or family will allow you to split the cost of hotels, which will save you quite a bit. If you’re a solo traveller, you can save on accommodation costs by staying at a hostel or capsule hotel.
